1.
Water
line project wrapping up this month. Report unresolved problems now
After 9 months, the first phase of the
water line project for Southampton is wrapping up. Crews are
now beginning the final phase of restoration work and will
continue through the end of the month. If you have an
unresolved problem or damage that has not yet been addressed,
and you have not yet been in contact with the contractor,
please contact Project Superintendent Randy Lehde at 281-832-5072.
You may also reply to this message or send an email to waterline@southamptoncivicclub.org
and we will pass it along for you to the water line team. We will also
add your concerns to a punch list to be submitted to the
contractor and the city. Please do not
delay reporting any outstanding issues, as the city will
be signing off on the project in May.
The second
phase of the project will begin later this month to replace
water lines on Dunstan, Bolsover and Rice Blvd. and will run through
November. The contractor for this new phase is
Scohill Construction Services (281-955-8375). Michael Barrett
will continue to serve as project manager for the city and can
be reached at
281-974-823. Information about
about Phase 2 will be posted on the
Southampton website later this month.

your home, please reply to this message.
3.
Who
to call about Bissonnet roadway noise from water line project The
noise from steel plates covering holes in the Bissonnet
roadway near Kent has been causing headaches for nearby
neighbors. The plates are related to the Southampton Water
Line Project and are asphalted into place, but occasionally they come
loose and can make a great deal of noise. Please
report any problems to the city's 311 hotline or 713-837-0311
(from a cell phone) or contact the Project Manager, Michael Barrett, at
281-974-823. The project is wrapping up this month.
4. Dog Found. Female
boxer, 4-5
years old, no microchip or tags, very sweet temperament, found a week
ago on Vassar. Inquries close to this location have not
turned up an owner. We're
hoping to re-unite
this sweet dog with its family. To claim, contact
the Cummings at 713-927-5946 or
713-320-4708.
5.
Compostable
yard waste bags not required for Southampton
You
may have read in the news that all residents who use the City of
Houston Solid Waste removal services are required to use biodegradable
bags for yard waste. This program is not
mandatory for Southampton residents, because we have a private waste
disposal company, WCA Waste of Texas.
6.

Southampton's
spring Alley Rally: Saturday, April 24th, 9am -12 noon
Start planning now for our semi-annual spring alley cleanup. Break out the
trimmers, trash bags, shovels & brooms, and spend the
morning beautifying our alleys. Let’s make the
alleys safer and more
accessible for ourselves, and the trash and utility crews.
After the
cleanup, notify us of any areas that need patching or pothole repair
and we will submit your requests to the city for quick action.MOST
IMPROVED ALLEY CONTEST: Each alley will be visited by a team of judges
who will select this season’s winner. Criteria include
building and landscaping maintenance and lighting. Sandra
Gunn/Sandra Gunn Properties will donate $250
to the Friends of Fleming Park on behalf of the winning alley. Our
celebrity judge is landscape architect Mark Scioneaux of Tellepsen
Landscaping.
